CHEZKA Centeno and Rubilen Amit dominated Fathrah Masum and Nony Andilah of Indonesia, 7-0, to win the gold medal in the women’s 10-ball doubles of the 30th Southeast Asian Games at the Manila Hotel Tent.
Centeno and Amit made it look easy as they blanked their Indonesian opponent for the very first gold medal in the women’s doubles category in the SEA Games.
Centeno and Amit won their second gold medal each after they won the 10-ball and 9-ball singles respectively.

In total, the Philippines bagged four gold medals in billiards and snooker to win the overall championship in the sport. Dennis Orcollo also copped the gold medal in the men’s 10-ball singles.
“Sobrang saya po. Suwerte rin po kami. Sumasablay din ‘yung mga kalaban namin. Galing din po ng partner ko. Puro benta eh pag break nila. Maganda rin break nila pero may mga error,” said Centeno.
The Filipina pair was never threatened in the match with a few break and run in the battle for the gold. Amit also converted on a carom, hitting the five-ball and converting the nine to reach hill.
“I’m very happy dahil maganda nilaro namin nung finals. Na-enjoy namin ‘yung match, tapos may halong suwerte. Meron din kaming two or three misses na hindi binigay sa kalaban,” said Amit.
