CARLO Biado and Johann Chua beat Kok Jken Yung and Muhamad Yakup Muhammad Almie, 9-2, on Tuesday in the men’s 9-ball doubles at the start of the 30th Southeast Asian Games billiards competition at the Manila Hotel Tent.
Biado and Chua raced to a three-rack lead to start the match, took a commanding 5-1 lead, and never looked back as the Filipino duo advanced to the quarterfinals to be played on Tuesday night.
Also competing in the men’s 9-ball doubles later in the day are Warren Kiamco and Jeffrey Ignacio, who will face another Malaysia duo of Darryl Chua and Ibrahim Amir.
Efren ‘Bata’ Reyes, meanwhile, will see action in the one-carom on Wednesday along with Rubilen Amit in the women’s 10-ball singles.
