PATTAYA, Thailand – The Philippine Blu Boys regained supremacy in Southeast Asian Games men’s softball, beating Singapore, 3-0, for the gold on Thursday at the Queen Sirikit Baseball Stadium in Pathum Thani.
The Blu Boys beat the same team that dislodged them from the regional throne on their own field in 2019 in Clark. Prior to that, Filipinos claimed the crown in eight of the last nine editions.

Lefty hurler Jehanz Maristela Coro fanned 17 batters in a two-hit shutout, while Justine Rosales opened things up with a solo home run then a two-run single by Lyona de Leon in the fourth inning.
The Philippines went 2-1 in the preliminaries with mercy rule wins over Malaysia, 11-1, and Thailand, 12-0, in four innings.
The Blu Boys’ lone defeat was against Singapore with a score of 7-4, but they made sure there weren’t any repeats during the final.
Blu Girls hope to join Blu Boys as champions
The Blu Girls will look to sweep the softball competitions on Friday in the championship match also against Singapore.
The Ana Santiago-mentored side went 4-0 in the preliminaries, including a 2-1 win over Singapore in eight innings.
