NEW CLARK CITY – The Philippine arnis team picked up where it left off as it accounted for three more golds in the 30th Southeast Asian Games.

Elmer Manlapaz won the first gold Monday afternoon at the Angeles University Foundation, ruling the men’s padded stick (featherweight). Jesfer Huquire (bantamweight) and Carloyd Tejada (welterweight) then followed his lead with their own golden turns in the respective divisions in men's padded stick.

The feat was a perfect follow up to the Filipinos’ productive opening day haul of five golds in the sport that is making a comeback in the SEA Games after 14 years.

Billy Joel Valenzuela came a win short of delivering a fourth gold after settling for the silver in the men’s padded stick (lightweight).

The Philippines looks to add more to the haul with still a day left in the competition.

Dancesport has accounted for the most number of golds the country has won in the biennial meet with 10.
