A day after the announcement of the official lineup to the 30th Southeast Asian Games, volleyball star Alyssa Valdez showed up at an event, wearing a protective boot on her right foot.
On Thursday during the press launch of the partnership between Milo and Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee (PHISGOC), Valdez assured that there’s nothing to worry about.
The Creamline team captain said that it was the same injury she sustained during practice almost a month ago.
“Oo, oo guys [it’s the same injury]. It’s really prevention for aggravate the symptoms,” said Valdez, who insisted that she will keep on fighting no matter what.
“Laban lang, laban lang. Ito, preparation naman ito para sa mga darating pa na mga games,” she added.
When asked it it’s nothing serious, Valdez said that she will be ready for the biennial meet which will be held from November 30 to December 10.
“Yes, dasal po tayo. Ok lang ako. Lalaban tayo, handa tayo sa darating na SEA Games,” she said.
Valdez along with Rhea Dimaculangan, Jia Morado, Ces Molina, Eya Laure, Kalei Mau, Mylene Paat, Jovelyn Gonzaga, Aby Maraño, Majoy Baron, Maddie Madayag, Mika Reyes, Dawn Macandili and Kath Arado will fly to Japan for a training camp from October 20 to November 2.
