ALYSSA Valdez will serve as the team captain of Philippine women's volleyball team in the 32nd Southeast Asian Games in Cambodia in May, the Philippine National Volleyball Federation announced on Sunday.
This will be Valdez's fifth time seeing action in the biennial meet and and the first as the team captain of the squad.

Joining Valdez in the 14-member roster are her Creamline teammates Jia Morado-De Guzman, Kyla Atienza, Ced Domingo, Jema Galanza, Tots Carlos and Michele Gumabao.
Rounding out the list are Cignal’s Maria Gel Cayuna and Glaudine Troncoso, PLDT’s Dell Palomata and libero Kath Arado, Choco Mucho’s Cherry Nunag and Kat Tolentino and Chery Tiggo’s Mylene Paat.

Jorge Souza de Brito will call the shots for the women’s team, while Creamline head coach Sherwin Meneses will serve as an assistant.
The competition is slated to begin two days ahead of the opening ceremony on May 3 at Morodok Techo Elephant Hall.
“These teams are composed of perhaps the most formidable rosters to date with each and everyone of these athletes dedicated and determined to rise to the challenge in Cambodia,” PNVF president Ramon “Tats” Suzara said.
“With the skills given and dedication to flag and country considered, our coaches put premium on chemistry, on how these players would blend based on the competitions and challenges of the SEA Games.”
