AGATHA Wong may have hiked her gold medal haul to two after her victory in women's taijijian, but she's far from content with her performance at the 30th Southeast Asian Games Tuesday.

"For me, parang hindi ko na-meet yung expectations ko sa form," she said after amassing a score of 9.65 to rule the women's taolu taijijian just two days after her golden performance in the taolu taijiquan.

"Results-wise, I'm really happy," the 21-year-old added, insisting that her road to the top wasn't easy given the caliber of her opponents, the last two of which, Vietnam's Thi Minh Huyen Tran and Brunei's Basma Lachkar, gave her quite a scare.

"They're really good opponents. I think it's just a level of mentality. When it comes to wushu, when your mind is in trouble, di mo ma-execute yung jumps mo or form mo."

It's still a tough road for Wong even though Asian Games gold medalist Lindswell Kwok of Singapore, who retired last year, no longer participated in these Games.

"When Lindswell (Kwok) retired, alam kong meron pa akong ibang kalaban na mas matindi like Vietnam, Japan. Hindi lang si Lindswell maski siya lagi ang nananalo. Lahat may chance manalo and I'm happy to be part of that level," she said.

"Sa wushu, you're not always going to be consistent with your world rankings or regional rankings. Every year, we have to really train hard just to retain yung kailangan naming level for this year."

With all those sacrifices paying off, Wong is just happy to have delivered for the country.

"I'm really grateful to represent the Philippines and compete with such great countries. I'm going to continue to do my best even after the SEA Games," she said.

For now, Wong's reward is a well-deserved rest.

"Mag-hibernate na ako," she chuckled. "Marami na akong pinagdaanan this year."
