THE sixth Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Thailand where the Philippines was scheduled to compete later this year has been cancelled.
Sport Authority of Thailand governor Gongsak Yodmani announced the cancellation following confirmation from the Olympic Council of Asia, citing the lack of funds and time constraints for the cancellation of the multisport event.

A total of 32 sports was supposed to be played in Bangkok and Chonburi from November 21 to 30.
The Philippines was already preparing for the multisport event, with karate chief Richard Lim appointed as the chef de mission by the Philippine Olympic Committee.
Paris Olympic athlete Joanie Delgaco was also scheduled to take part in the AIMAG in the indoor rowing event.
The Philippines enjoyed success in the previous AIMAG in 2017 where it collected two gold medals courtesy of Meggie Ochoa and Annie Ramirez of ju-jiutsu.
It also came away with 14 silvers, one of which from eventual Tokyo Olympic gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz ,and 14 bronzes.
The next AIMAG was supposed to be held in 2021 but was postponed a couple of times due to the COVID-19 pandemic and changes in the Thailand government.
