PSC set to utilize new tool for talent identification in all sports

'Elite Link' good to go for Batang Pinoy 2025
Oct 7, 2025

AN app designed to help grassroots sports and talent identification has been rolled out, with participants in the coming Batang Pinoy 2025 being its first beneficiaries.

The ‘Elite Link’ app is a platform akin to LinkedIn where athletes can create their own profiles and post results, statistics, achievements, and videos of recent competitions.

The app, the result of a partnership between the Philippine Sports Commission and Elite Link Inc., will then serve as a database that entities such as schools, universities, national sports associations, and sponsors can use for recruitment.

To start the ball rolling, the PSC has made it mandatory for all athletes in the Batang Pinoy 2025 National Championship in General Santos City later this month to register in the app.

“It will now be a database for us to identify all youth athletes who will one day, in the near future, become elite athletes,” said PSC chairman Patrick Gregorio during its formal launch on Tuesday at the Solaire Resort.

“Here we are launching a very big program that is a game-changer to Philippine sports, at no cost to the Philippine government and no cost to the Philippine Sports Commission,” he added.

Elite Link Inc. senior advisor and Filipina Olympian Akiko Thomson-Guevara said the app will be a connection between young athletes and different brands.

“If there is any one word I would use to describe it, I’m very excited. Excited for the launch of the app. Excited for this partnership with the PSC. I’m excited for our young athletes because with this app, what we are trying to do really is create an ecosystem so that aspiring, young athletes are able to be seen,” she said.

“That’s one of the challenges of an athlete. It’s hard to navigate. Our athletes have big dreams, pero how do we get there. It’s hard but we have technology. This technology, we are using it, I feel, to really aid and help our athletes. On this app, there will be brands, clubs, teams, and coaches who can see and athletes can post their results, videos, and details about them. It’s going to be easier for brands, it’s easier to find athletes.”

The platform is powered by White Cloak Technologies, which has also included protection mechanisms and authentication measures to safeguard the app from data breach and inaccurate information.
