THE Philippines won two silvers and two bronzes in the recent 18th World Pencak Silat Championship in Singapore.
Cherry May Regalado took the silver in the tunggal puti event, while the regu putra team of Rick Rod Ortega, James El Mayagma, and Jefferson Rhey Loon also won the silver.
Winning the bronze medals were Rechel Llavore in the Class A tanding male and Jaciren Abad in the Class B tanding male.
The medals in the world championship were a big follow-up to the Philippine pencak silat team’s performance in the 2018 Asian Games where they won four bronze medals.
Regalado and Loon were two of the bronze medalists in the quadrennial meet.
