THE national golf team left for Bahrain on Monday to join the advance Philippine delegation in the capital city of Manama for the 3rd Asian Youth Games.
Handled by 1986 Asian Games gold medalist Ramon Brobio, the six-member team is hoping to pick up from where the sport left off during the 2013 edition of the meet in Nanjing, China.

Mia Legaspi provided one of two gold medals the country won in the Chinese province when she topped the girls’ competition in a one-two finish with conmpatriot Princess Superal.
Now the Filipino golfers are looking to dupicate that success in the meet that is making a return after its two previous editions in 2017 and 2021 were cancelled.
The team is composed of Crista Therese Esma Minoza, David Charles Cabal Saga, Patrick Tambalque, Precious Zaragosa, and Tristan Padilla.
The girls’ volleyball squad, tecball. kurash, and pencak silat are now in Bahrain as part of the first Philippine contingent to arrive in time for the opening ceremony on Wednesday.
