PH cagers dump Thailand to reach finals of Asean School Games

THE Philippines beat Thailand, 106-71, on Monday to advance into the finals of the 10th Asean School Games boys basketball in Malaysia.

Cyril Gonzales had 23 points, six rebounds, and four steals, while Harold Alarcon and Carl Vincent Tamayo had 16 and 15 points each for the Philippines, which will face Malaysia for the gold on Wednesday.

The core of National University is representing the Philippines in the Asean School Games.

The girls team, meanwhile, beat Thailand, 71-69, to remain undefeated after three games.

Kent Jane Pastrana had 21 points, while Karl Ann Pingol had 17 points for the Philippine squad.
