PASIG City bagged the overall championship in the 2024 Batang Pinoy National Championships in Puerto Princesa City.
Pasig City collected 105 gold, 64 silver and 116 bronze medals to become the new overall champion, snapping the four-year run of Baguio City in the competitions for athletes aged 17 years old and younger.
Pasig swimmers make a splash
The 771-strong Pasig continent got 11 golds, nine silvers, and 11 bronzes from swimming with Arveen Taguinota leading the way with six mints
Baguio City placed second with a 92-gold, 72-silver and 89-bronze tally, while Quezon City took third spot with 59 gold, 55 silver and 53 bronze medals.
By winning the overall title, Pasig City will receive P5 million as cash incentive from the organizing Philippine Sports Commission, while Baguio will get P4 million. Quezon City got P3 million.
Davao City emerged as fourth placer with 39 gold medals, 44 silver and 37 bronze, while General Santos City grabbed fifth spot with 36 gold, 30 silver and 40 bronze medals. They will receive P2 million and P1 million, respectively.
