JOSEPHINE Medina ruled the women’s table tennis event of the 5th PSC-Philspada National Paralympic Games on Wednesday at the Marikina Sports Center.

The 46-year-old Medina, gold medalist in the Asean Para Games in Singapore last year, completed a four-match sweep of the event with an 11-5, 11-4, 11-1 win over Angela Querubin.

Medina, a polio victim, is set to compete in the Rio De Janeiro Paralympics in September.

In chess, Asean Para Games gold medalists Sander Severino, Henry Lopez, and James Infiesto led the way in the men’s standard competition with two straight victories in the men’s orthopedic division.

Francis Ching, Anthony Abogado, and Rodolfo Sarmiento are tied for first place in the men’s blind division after the second round.

In wheelchair basketball, Solid North-National Capital Region beat Quezon City Mustangs, 64-14, for their second straight win in Group A.
