GARY Bejino of swimming and Cendy Asusano of athletics won their second gold medals in the 12th Asean Para Games on Monday in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
Bejino claimed the gold in the men’s 200m freestyle S6 at the Morodok Techo Aquatics Center with a clocking of two minutes, 38.55 seconds, erasing the old mark of 2:45.99 set by Aung Myint Myat of Myanmar last year in Indonesia.

Bejino's winning debut in that distance came as a fitting follow-up to his conquest in the men’s 400m freestyle on Sunday.
Team Philippines captured five gold medals on Monday to increase its total to 13 along with 16 silvers and 15 bronzes.

Asusano, meanwhile, seized the gold in the women’s javelin throw F54 at the Morodok Techo National Stadium, completing a golden double after ruling the shot put on Monday.
Ariel Alegarbes netted the men’s 50m butterfly S14 gold with a time of 26.69 seconds while Evaristo Joven Carbonel dominated the men’s javelin throw F11 after hurling 23.98 meters.
Sander Severino and Henry Roger Ilagan tabbed the men’s team rapid para chess PI at the Royal University of Phnom Penh.
