    UE stuns Ateneo again to gain UniGames final

    UNIVERSITY of the East scored another huge upset over Ateneo, stunning the defending champions 68-65 on Saturday to move into the finals of the University Games men’s basketball tournament in Bacolod City.

    The Red Warriors, who handed Ateneo one of its only two losses in the recent UAAP season, will face National University in the finals set on Sunday.

    UAAP Most Valuable Player Bobby Ray Parks hit the game-winning basket to lead the Bulldogs to a 67-66 win over Adamson in the semifinals.

    UAAP women's champion Far Eastern University, who went undefeated in 16 games to capture the crown, is one win  away from clinching the Unigames crown after beating Lyceum.

    NU beat Adamson, 91-87, to clinch the other spot in the women’s final.

    De La Salle University faces University of St. La Salle in the finals of the women’s volleyball competitions after besting separate rivals in the Final Four on Saturday.

    The Lady Archers beat University of Santo Tomas while the Lady Stingers defeated Adamson in five sets to arrange a titular showdown between sister schools on Sunday.

    USLS was able to beat its Manila counterparts in men’s football as the Stingers beat the Green Archers, 2-0, in the semifinals.

    The Stingers will face FEU in the finals after the Tamaraws beat San Beda in the other semifinal match.
