VIGAN, Ilocos Sur — Fresh from his stint with Batang Gilas in the Fiba Under-16 Asian Championship, Terrence Fortea will be seeing action in the 2018 Palarong Pambansa secondary basketball competitions.
National University officials confirmed Fortea is part of the team’s line-up along with Carl Tamayo, Gerry Abadiano, and Miguel Oczon.
NU is representing National Capital Region in the annual athletic meet set to formally open on Sunday at the President Elpidio Quirino Stadium.
In the Fiba Under-16 Asian Championship, Fortea averaged 11.7 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists for Batang Gilas, who clinched a spot in the 2018 Fiba Under-17 Basketball World Cup after finishing fourth in the Asian championship.
Tamayo is part of the Gilas Pilipinas pool for the 2023 Fiba Basketball World Cup, while Abadiano is the Most Outstanding Player in the recent NBTC won by the Bullups.
Oczon was one of the members of the Bullpups team that saw action in UAAP Season 80 juniors basketball tournament and recently committed to play for the NU seniors team.
The secondary boys basketball tournament will be played at the San Juan Municipal Gym in San Juan, a town one hour away from the Ilocos Sur capital.
