BANTAY, Ilocos Sur — National Capital Region completed a sweep of the secondary boys basketball eliminations after beating SOCCSKSARGEN, 92-75, on Wednesday at the San Juan Covered Court in San Juan, Ilocos Sur.
NCR, carrying the core of NBTC champion National University, made it 3-0 in the group stage at the end of the eliminations to enter the playoff round unbeaten. The quarterfinals begin on Thursday morning at the San Juan Covered Court.
Meanwhile, Calabarzon, which is represented by many-time NCAA champion San Beda, clinched a quarterfinal berth after claiming its third win with an 81-60 victory over Mimaropa.
On Tuesday, Central Visayas, represented by University of the Visayas, beat ARMM, 88-72, to clinch a quarterfinal berth by winning its second game in as many outings.
Davao Region also made it to the quarterfinals after taking its second win in beating Caraga Region, 84-70.
