CARLOS Yulo’s father Mark Andrew showed up during his son’s heroes’ parade at Manila on Wednesday.
Footage of Radio TV Malacanang of the parade showed the elder Yulo being lifted by a couple of individuals at Roxas Boulevard. A paper containing the words “Caloy Dito Papa Mo” was also caught on camera.
Yulo’s father was among thousands of Filipinos that flocked the route of the parade organized by the Office of the President.
Included in the route is the President Quirino Ave.-M. Adriatico area where Yulo grew up at nearby Leveriza St. where several thousands of people from all ages gathered to see their very own.
Caloy later acknowledged his father's presence on his Facebook page, thanking him while also apologizing for not waving his hand enough during the parade.
"Maraming salamat Pa, masaya ako nakita kita don nakasuporta," wrote Caloy.
"Pasensya na pa hindi ako masyado nakakaway, ang daming nag pa autograph. Hehe. Kitakits soon, Pa."
The float that also had bronze medalist Nesthy Petecio and Aira Villegas, and other Paris Olympians Carlo Paalam, Sam Catantan, Jarod Hatch, Kayla Sanchez, Joanie Delgaco, and Kiyomi Watanabe, went around the southern part of Manila.
The route of the parade ended at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex where a program was also prepared for the Paris Olympic athletes.
