MARIA SHARAPOVA set up a semifinal clash with Maria Kirilenko and world No. 1 Victoria Azarenka forged a last four matchup with Serena Williams in the in the London Olympics tennis tournament.

Four-time Grand Slam champion and Olympic third seed Maria Sharapova defeated Belgium’s Kim Clijsters, 6-2, 7-5, while fellow Russian Kirilenko ousted last year’s Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova of the Czech Republic 7-6 (3), 6-3.

Azarenka scored a 6-4, 7-5 quarterfinal win over Germany’s Angelique Kerber, while Williams clobbered fellow former world No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki 6-0, 6-3.

The men’s semifinals pit world No. 1 Roger Federer against Argentina’s Juan Martin de Potro, while home bet Andy Murray arranged a duel with former top player Novak Djokovic of Serbia.

Swiss top seed Federer downed John Isner of the US 6-4, 7-6 to boost bid to add the Olympic singles gold to his Grand Slam trophy collection.
