NESTHY Petecio resumes her campaign in Paris as she goes for a quarterfinal berth in Day Seven of the Philippines’ participation in the 2024 Olympics.
The Tokyo Olympic silver medalist battles French bet Amina Zidani in the women’s 57kg division round-of-16 on Friday, 8 p.m. Paris time (Saturday, 2 a.m. Manila time) at the Arena Paris Nord.
Joanie Delgaco wraps up her campaign in rowing when she competes in the Final D at 10:30 a.m. (4:30 p.m. Manila time) at the Vaires-sur-Marne Nautical Stadium.
Over at the Paris La Defense Arena, swimmer Jarod Hatch will also be in action in the men’s 100m butterfly heats at 11 a.m. (5 p.m. Manila time).

Petecio squares off against a formidable foe in Zidani, who is seeded No. 3 in the tournament. The French boxer captured the gold medal in the European Games last year that enabled her to secure a ticket to the Olympics.
Zidani, who is also a bronze medalist in last year’s World Championships, drew a first round bye.
Petecio arranged a round-of-16 showdown with Zidani after an impressive unanimous decision win over Jaismine Lamboria of India, and she needs two more victories in order to clinch an Olympic medal.
Meanwhile, Delgaco will seek the best finish possible as at stake in the Final D is 19th to 24th spots.
Hatch will seek to duplicate the performance of his Philippine teammate Kayla Sanchez after she reached the semifinals and placed 15th in the women’s 100m freestyle.
The 25-year-old Hatch holds the Philippine record of 52.87 seconds in the World Aquatics Championships last year in Fukuoka, Japan.
