EVEN after failing to make the medal round of the men’s figure skating event of the 2014 Sochi Olympics, Michael Martinez will still get a reward of US$10K from no less than known sports patron Manny V. Pangilinan.

Chot Reyes tweeted in his account @coachot about the compensation the young 17-year-old skater will be receiving from the MVP Sports Foundation (MVPSF) for making the country proud as the lone Philippine entry in the Winter Games.

“Just emailed Mrs Martinez that MVPSF at request of @iamMVP has authorized a bonus of US$10k in recognition of Michael's historic performance,” said Reyes, who’s also connected with MVPSF, in his tweeter account.

The MVPSF has been supporting the campaign of Martinez even before the Sochi Games.
