THE Philippine Olympic Committee has revealed the barongs flagbearers Nesthy Petecio and Carlo Paalam will wear during the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympics.

The barongs were designed by Francis Libiran and were described by the POC as “crafted from piña-jusi fabric... featuring a detachable silk organdy sling with embroidered sun rays and Pintados-inspired warrior patterns.”
“This barong symbolizes bravery and national pride,” the POC also said.
Petecio and Paalam were given the distinct honor of carrying the flag in the parade of nations during the opening rites set on July 26 at the Stade de France.
