LEVI Ruivivar became the third Philippine gymnast to qualify in the 2024 Paris Olympics after placing second in the uneven bars of the Doha World Cup.
Ruivivar scored 13.633 to capture the silver behind Kaylia Nemour of Algeria in the apparatus final in the uneven bars of the final stop in the World Cup series that serves as a qualification for the Olympics.
By finishing second in the Doha World Cup, Ruivivar climbed to second in the World Cup ranking list in the uneven bars. The top two gymnasts from that list qualifies for the Olympics.
Her performance in the World Cup is enough to join Carlos Yulo and Aleah Finnegan in the Philippines delegation to the Olympics.
The Philippine Olympic Committee and the Gymnastics Association of the Philippines confirmed that Ruivivar has booked a spot in the Olympics.
The silver gave Ruivivar a huge jump in the World Cup ranking list as she was fifth entering the Doha World Cup.
The Fil-American decided to compete for the Philippines in 2023 after being part of the United States gymnastics team.
Born in Los Angeles, the 18-year-old Ruivivar traces her Filipino roots from her father Anthony. She is also competing for Stanford in the US NCAA.
