JAROD Hatch placed 36th among 40 swimmers in the men’s 100-meter butterfly heats with a clocking of 54.66 seconds in the 2024 Paris Olympics at the Paris La Defense Arena.
Hatch finished last among eight swimmers in Heat 2, not even close to securing a place in the semifinals that goes to the 16 swimmers with the best times.

Hatch’s time was nearly two seconds off his Philippine record of 52.87 seconds that he registered during last year’s World Aquatics Championship in Fukuoka, Japan.
Hatch was unable to duplicate Kayla Sanchez’s semifinal finish in the women’s 100m freestyle. She wound up 15th overall.
World-record holder and reigning Olympic champion Caeleb Dressel of the United States finished sixth in the heats with a time of 50.83 seconds.
Kristof Milak of Hungary topped the heats with a time of 50.19 seconds, followed by Josh Liendo of Canada (50.55), Noe Ponti of Switzerland (50.65), Maxime Grousset of France (50.65), and Ilya Kharin of Canada (50.71).
