    Olympian Ian Lariba seeks prayers, support after relapse of leukemia

    OLYMPIAN Ian Lariba is set for another round of chemotherapy treatment after the rrelapse of leukemia.

    Through the social media pages of DLSU Sports, Lariba bared she went through chemotherapy again after experiencing headaches and vomiting during the first week of January.

    After a battery of tests, it was determined by doctors that her leukemia has recurred and has reached the table tennis player's brain and spinal cord, the social media post bared.

    Lariba, who qualified to represent the Philippines in the 2016 Rio De Janeiro Olympics, has also experienced blurring of vision and weakness in the left side of his body.


      Lariba, who played for La Salle during her college days, said she is determined to fight the disease.

      “I appeal to your kind hearts for any assistance that you can give to help me with my fight against the disease. I also humbly ask for your prayers so I may overcome this challenge,” said Lariba.

      Last November, the 23-year-old made a public appearance at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex table tennis gym after she was discharged from hospital following a successful bone marrow transplant.

      DLSU Sports announced financial assistance to Lariba can be coursed through BDO Vito Cruz Taft branch savings account number 0045-8045-9965 (Account name: IAN N. LARIBA).
