HIDILYN Diaz has arrived in her hometown of Zamboanga City where she was greeted by a hero’s welcome.
Diaz was welcomed at the Zamboanga International Airport by no less than city mayor Beng Climaco, greeting her in Chavacano as the city celebrated the return of the newest Philippine sports heroine.
Throngs of Zamboanguenos also awaited the Rio Olympics silver medalist during the motorcade where she went around the city, including Mampang where she lives.
Diaz is set to receive P500,000 from the local government as incentive for winning a silver medal in the Olympics.
