Chinese Taipei formalized its entry in the third round of the Olympic qualifiers after beating Iran, 4-1, to sweep their three assignments in Group C.
The Taiwanese booters beat the Philippines, 4-2, in their second match that saw them overcame a 0-2 deficit.
Entering the match, the Filipina booters needed an overwhelming win over Palestine and a loss by Chinese Taipei in order take the lone spot in the third round through goal difference.
Only one team in each of the three groups will join Australia, China, South Korea, North Korea, and Thailand in the final round of qualification.
Sara Castaneda (66th, 70th) and Eva Madarang (31st, 60th) showed the way , while Patrice Impelido (62nd), Joyce Semacio (17th), and Alisha Del Campo (29th) also delivered for the Philippines.
