RIO DE JANEIRO – More than track icon Usain Bolt, trackster Eric Cray got a lot of high seeing and having his picture taken with NBA superstar Kevin Durant during his stint in the XXXI Olympiad here.

The country’s entry in the 400m hurdles had the chance to take a photo with the member of the USA men’s team during the opening ceremony of the Games two weeks ago.

He was actually looking forward of seeing more of the millionaire basketball players, but the team unfortunately doesn’t stay inside the Athletes’ Village.

“I took a picture with Kevin Durant. But other than that, I didn’t get to see them (NBA players). They were hiding,” he said in between laughs, obviously referring to the men and women’s basketball teams being housed at the Silver Cloud yacht, a luxury cruise ship docked on the city’s eastern waterfront.

“They don’t stay in the (Athletes) Village, so I didn’t get to see a lot of them.”

Cray also saw young American gymnast Simone Biles, winner of four gold medals here, and the other members of the U.S. gymnastics team.

“It was great seeing all the top athletes (of the world), being here and seeing them as well,” said the 27-year-old Fil-Am runner, who made the semis of his pet event right in his first Olympic stint.

The sight of the towering 6-foot-5 Bolt lord over the field after winning three more gold medals here, including the centerpiece event 100m dash, however, no longer thrills Cray.

“I see Bolt to a lot of meets I’ve been to,” admitted the Olongapo-born runner, who’s currently the fastest man in the Southeast Asian region.

“It’s no longer excited to see him. I run track professionally, so I saw him in a lot of meets, and a lot of my friends as well.”

Cray already left for the U.S. Thursday (Friday, Manila time) along with fellow trackster Marestella Torres-Sunang.

RIO DE JANEIRO — More than track icon Usain Bolt, Fil-American hurdler Eric Cray was thrilled to see Kevin Durant and jave his picture taken with the NBA superstar at the Rio Olympics.

Cray explained that he sees Bolt in various track meets, and it was different being with the NBA stars in the same international competition.

He wanted to meet the other basketball stars, but having his picture taken with Durant was already a big deal.
