The Filipino pole vaulter bagged the silver medal behind home bet Mondo Duplantis, the world No. 1 and Olympic champion, who cleared 6.05m.
The world No. 3 pole vaulter, Obiena could not clear 5.95 in three attempts.

The 27-year-old Obiena is set to return to the Olympics seeking redemption after an 11th-place finish in the 2021 Tokyo Games.
In Japan, Obiena cleared 5.70m, falling short in two attempts at 5.80.
