ARMAND Duplantis set a new world record in the men’s pole vault, clearing 6.25 meters on Monday in the 2024 Paris Olympics at the Stade de France.
The Swedish pole vaulter finally hit the mark in the third and final attempt, breaking his own record of 6.24 set last April in Xiamen, China.
The 24-year-old Duplantis initially broke the Olympic record when he cleared 6.10, breaking the mark of 6.03 set by Thiago Braz in 2016 in Rio De Janeiro.
He also set the mark after just seven jumps.

Duplantis cruised to victory, hitting the 6.00-meter mark after his third jump, before attempting new records.
Sam Kendricks of the United States got the silver with 5.95 while Emmanouil Karalis of Greece took the bronze with 5.90.
EJ Obiena of the Philippines also had 5.90 but placed fourth via countback.
