Centeno tops Asian 9-ball
Chezka Centeno beats Seo Seoa for the title.
CHEZKA Centeno defeated Korea’s Seo Seoa, 11-7, to win the 2022 APF Asian Women's 9-Ball title on Sunday at the Aspire Recreation Centre in Singapore.
The 23-year-old Filipina clinched a spot in the Predator World 10-Ball Championship in Austria in September.
James Aranas wound up second in men’s play, bowing to Ko Pin Yi of Chinese Taipei, 13-11.
Ko eliminated Southeast Asian Games gold medalist Johann Chua at the semifinal stage.
JMF is Best Player of the Conference
June Mar Fajardo bags his ninth career BPC title.
JUNE Mar Fajardo earned the top individual award of the Philippine Cup, his seventh Best Player of the Conference award in the PBA’s all-Filipino tournaments.
Fajardo now has a total of nine BPC titles since entering the league in 2012.
The 32-year-old Fajardo had 1,119 total points, topping the statistics (501) and media votes (537), while ending up tied with Mikey Williams for players votes with 81 each.
CJ Perez wound up second with 776 points (statistics 474, media votes 257, players votes 45).
Williams came in third with 610 points, followed by Scottie Thompson with 468 and Japeth Aguilar with 415.
TNT evens series with SMB
Jayson Castro delivers again for TNT.
ON the night June Mar Fajardo was named BPC, Jayson Castro shone brightest and powered TNT to a 100-87 victory over San Miguel in Game Four of the Philippine Cup Finals.
Castro led all scorers, delivering 26 points as the Tropang Giga tied the best-of-seven title series 2-2.
Roger Pogoy had 21 points, Mikey Wiliams added 15,while Kelly Williams came up with 14 points as TNT got back on track after two straight losses.
Fajardo had 20 points and 19 rebounds, Simon Enciso scored 15, Marcio Lassiter added 14, while CJ Perez and Mo Tautuaa wound up with 13 each for the Beermen.
