Jericho Cruz sent off for knee hit on Varilla
SAN Miguel’s Jericho Cruz was ejected from the game against TNT for a knee hit on Paul Varilla, the first the be sent off a game in the PBA’s preseason exhibition.
Cruz and Varilla battled for a loose ball in the third period and the former was caught using his knee as they struggled on the floor.
The 32-year-old Cruz was sent off on a flagrant foul penalty two.
Jolo Mendoza stars as Converge downs Phoenix
JOLO Mendoza came off the bench and shot 7 for 12 from the three-point line, 8 for 14 overall, to power Converge past Phoenix, 104-90.
Mike Nieto added 20 points on 8 of 18 shooting as the FiberXers improved to 4-4.
