Ginebra looks to finish off San Miguel

GINEBRA is gearing up for a tough closeout match against San Miguel in the PBA Governors’ Cup semifinals.
The Gin Kings took a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five series, which fueled talks of a sweep, but coach Tim Cone noted it will be nearly impossible against a team of San Miguel’s caliber. The Beermen have never been swept in the 26 times that they played in a best-of-five series, according to PBA statistics chief Fidel Mangonon.
“It’s nearly impossible to beat them three straight times,” said Cone. “We are going to try to do the impossible.”
Game Three is set at 3 p.m. on Wednesday at the Araneta Coliseum.
The TNT-Meralco semifinal series is tied 1-1. Game Three is at 5:45 p.m.
