Team Japeth wins

PAUL Lee scored 32 and Roger Pogoy wound up with 20, including big endgame baskets, as Team Japeth beat Team Scottie, 140-136, on Sunday in the PBA All-Star Game on Sunday at the City of Passi Arena in Iloilo.
Jamie Malonzo also scored 20, while Calvin Oftana and Chris Newsome had 20 points each as Team Japeth, coached by Tim Cone, bagged P150,000.
Lee was named All-Star MVP.
Kevin Alas led all scorers, delivering 35 points for Team Scottie, while CJ Perez added 26.
Christian Standhardinger had 22 points, Calvin Abueva scored 15 and Robert Bolick added 14 for Team Scottie, under coach Yeng Guiao, which earned P75,000.
Passi boys grab share of spotlight

MARVIN Panes scored 10 as Blackwater-Barangay Ilawod defeated Terrafirma Barangay Mambiranan, 21-16, in the title game of the local 3x3 in the PBA All-Star Weekend.
The Bossing used an 11-2 run to clinch the title.
John Kinneth Lacerdo came up with seven points, while James Cia and Rovic Estaca-an had two points each.
Marano retires from int’l volleyball

FORMER Philippine women’s team captain Aby Marano has retired from international volleyball.
The 30-year-old Marano, who first suited up for the national team in 2015, now focuses on club competition.
She plays for F2 in the Premier Volleyball League.
"Grateful ako sobra sa lahat ng mga nakasama ko, sa teammates, coaches at National Sports Associations na dinaanan ko within the years na naglaro ako para sa bansa. Lalo na sa mga taong naniwala at nagtiwala sa kakayahan ko," said Marano.
