Robyn Brown shines in Asian track meet

ROBYN Brown topped the women's 400-meter hurdles in the 2023 Asian Athletics Championship in Bangkok.
Brown, bronze medalist in the Southeast Asian Games in Cambodia, came up with a solid run for the top prize in the continental competition, clocking 57.50 seconds.
Japan’s Eri Utsonomiya finished 57.73 for silver and Ami Yamamoto bagged bronze in 57.80.
Eric Cray placed sixth in the men's race.
Hotshots stay hot

MAGNOLIA overpowered Rain or Shine, 103-88, in the PBA on Tour on Saturday at the Lamberto Macias Sports and Cultural Center in Dumaguete.
Jio Jalalon had 24 points on 10 of 21 shooting, while Jerrick Ahanmisi shot 7 for 8 and wound up with 18 points as the Hotshots notched their ninth win in as many games in the preseason exhibition series.
Jhonard Clarito had 17 points and was a rebound short of a double-double for Rain or Shine.
Gian Mamuyac had 14 points off the bench for the Elasto Painters, who absorbed their second loss in eight games but remained in second spot.
Philippine spikers place 10th in Challenge Cup

THE Philippines bowed to host Chinese Taipei, 22-25, 17-25, 28-26, 22-25, in the AVC Challenge Cup on Saturday.
The Filipinos ended up in 10th place in the 15-team tournament.
The three wins in six outings helped move the Philippines to 57th from 223rd place in the FIVB men’s volleyball world rankings.
