Kai Sotto set to rejoin Gilas

KAI Sotto is expected to be back with Gilas Pilipinas next week after his stint with the Orlando Magic in the NBA Summer League.
Philippine men’s basketball team coach Chot Reyes said the 21-year-old Sotto is slated to join the team on July 18.
Gilas Pilipinas is preparing for a mini pocket tournament in August against the national teams of Lebanon, Iran, and Senegal in preparation for the Fiba Basketball World Cup.
“Si Kai July 18 ang usapan namin nandito na siya,” said Reyes. “Dapat nandito na siya sa practice (by July 18).”
Sotto finally plays for Magic in Summer League

KAI Sotto finally saw action for the Orlando Magic in the NBA Summer League on Thursday in Las Vegas (Friday, Manila time) after being kept on the bench in the first three games.
The 7-fot-3 center scored six points on 3 of 7 shooting, while making four rebounds, three blocks and a turnover in 13 minutes of play.
The Magic bowed to the Portland Trail Blazers, 71-88, and remain winless in four games.
Orlando takes on Boston on Saturday.
Boost for Gilas

DWIGHT Ramos looks ready for battle again for the Philippine men’s basketball team.
Gilas saw limited action in Gilas’ tuneup games in Europe due to a knee issue but looked in solid form at Gilas practice on Friday.
Sixteen players attended practice at the Meralco Gym, with Ray Parks, RR Pogoy and Calvin Oftana back after missing the European trip due to injuries.
Japeth Aguilar, Poy Erram, June Mar Fajardo, CJ Perez, Chris Newsome, Jamie Malonzo, Justin Brownlee Ange Kouame, Kiefer and Thirdy Ravena, and Rhenz Abando attened practice.
