JC to skip China tune-up

JORDAN Clarkson is not seeing action with Gilas Pilipinas in the pocket tournament in China.
The Fil-Am guard, who will take the spot for a naturalized player in the Philippine team participating in the Fiba Basketball World Cup, is now expected to meet up with the squad in Manila after its stint in the Heyuan WUS International Basketball Tournament in Guandong.
Justin Brownlee was earlier ruled out of the tournament as he is set to see action for the Philippines in the Asian Games in Hangzhou in September.
The Philippine team that left for Guandong to play tune-up games against Iran and Senegal had June Mar Fajardo, Japeth Aguilar, CJ Perez, Jamie Malonzo, Roger Pogoy, Poy Erram, Chris Newsome, Calvin Oftana, Bobby Ray Parks Jr., Kiefer Ravena, Dwight Ramos, Thirdy Ravena, Rhenz Abando and AJ Edu.
Cavitex wins back-to-back titles

JOREY Napoles and Kenneth Ighalo showed the way as Cavitex defeated Pioneer Elastoseal, 22-10, on Tuesday for its second straight leg title in the PBA 3x3 First Conference Season 3 on Tuesday at the Ayala Malls Manila Bay.
Napoles and Ighalo scored seven points apiece as the Braves joined Barangay Ginebra as teams to win back-to-back titles this conference.
Meanwhile, The Gin Kings, meanwhile, defeated Northport, 21-18, in the battle for third place.
Alen Stajcic moving on

COACH Alen Stajcic is not signing a new contract with the Philippine Football Federation.
After nearly two years in charge of the Philippine women’s football team, Stajcic is set to “explore other options.”
Stajcic’s long-time associate and Philippine team assistant coach Nahuel Arrarte will also not renew his contract.
The duo led the Philippines to a 1-2 record in the Women’s World Cup in New Zealand.
