JORDAN Heading has been ruled out of the Philippine men’s basketball team for the Fiba Basketball World Cup.
The 27-year-old guard, a key player for Gilas Pilipinas in the sixth and final window of the Fiba qualifiers in February, is still recovering from a back injury.
He is in Manila, according to Gilas team manager Butch Antonio, but is scheduled to return to the US for treatment.
Gilas U16 off to fine start

Kiefer Louie Alas scored 27 points, going 4 for 4 from beyond the arc, as the Philippine Under-16 basketball team defeated Malaysia, 94-52, on Monday in the Southeast Asian Basketball Association Championships in Surabaya.
Cletz Davis Amos and Irus Chua added 16 points each for the Philippine team.
The Filipinos share the early lead with Thailand, which nipped host Indonesia, 64-62.
The Philippines and Thailand clash on Tuesday for one of two berths in the Fiba U16 Asian Championships set in September in Doha, Qatar.
Baclao to continue playing for SMB

NOY Baclao has signed with San Miguel Beer for PBA Season 48.
No. 1 pick by Air21 in the 2010 PBA Draft, Baclao played in the PBA on Tour for the Beermen, who went 3-8.
The 36-year-old Baclao was released by Meralco at the end of Season 47 and the PBA preseason series turned out to be his tryout with San Miguel.
