Gilas roster update

A GILAS Pilipinas team insider disclosed to Spin.ph that those to be cut will be strongly considered as part of the roster for the Asian Games.
The Philippine men’s basketball team was down to 13 men in Tuesday night’s practice.
Thirdy Ravena and Ray Parks, who were not fielded in Gilas Pilipinas’ last three tune-up games, were absent on Tuesday along with Calvin Oftana.

Gilas Pilipinas vs Dominican Republic

THE Philippines now turns its focus on the opening game against Dominican Republic in the Fiba Basketball World Cup.
Gilas assistant coach Tim Cone rejoined the Philippine team on Monday after watching the Dominicans play the Canadian national team in a tune-up game in Spain. Karl-Anthony Towns and his squad won, 94-88.
The team on watched the video Cone brought back, before training session on Tuesday.
Italy sweeps tune-up series

GILAS’ pool rival Italy enters the Fiba Basketball World Cup unbeaten in tune-up games.
Led by Utah Jazz forward Simone Fontecchio, the Azzurri went 7-0 in training matches for the world meet.
First up for Italy is Angola on Friday before taking on the Dominican Republic on Sunday.
The Azzurri clash with Gilas on Aug. 29.
