Jeremiah Gray goes down with injury

JEREMIAH Gray suffered a knee injury in Ginebra’s game against NLEX on Sunday at the close of the PBA on Tour at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

The 26-year-old Fil-Am guard twisted his right knee while going for a fast break in the third period, screaming in pain a he went down.

Gray in 2021 suffered an ACL tear in his left knee during his PBA 3x3 stint which delayed his entry to the PBA.

BARANGAY Ginebra came up with a 91-85 victory over NLEX, rallying after losing Jeremiah Gray to injury in the PBA on Tour.

Von Pessumal had 23 points on 8 of 15 shooting, going 6 for 12 from beyond the arc, as Ginebra ended the preseason series with a 6-5 win-loss record.

Sidney Onwubere had 16 points and 10 rebounds, while Jeremiah Gray scored eight before getting injured.

Sean Anthony led NLEX with 26 points, while Anthony Semerad had 24. The Road Warriors finished with a 5-6 record.

Blackwater beats TNT

JVEE Casio scored 18 on 7 of 11 shooting as Blackwater defeated TNT, 101-78, on Sunday in the PBA on Tour.

Mike DiGregorio had 15 points as the Bossing ended with a 7-4 win-loss record, with Jeff Cariaso getting his first win as Blackwater head coach..

Glenn Khobuntin had 14 points, while Jaydee Tungcab came off the bench to score 13 for the Tropang Giga, who ended with a 1-10 record.

Alen Stajcic’s contract with Filipinas

IT is uncertain whether Alen Stajcic will be in charge when the Philippine women’s football team sees action in the Asian Games.

The Filipinas bowed out of the Women’s World Cup with a win and two losses in pool play.

The Philippines bowed to Switzerland 0-2 in the opener before getting its first points in the world meet by beating New Zealand, 1-0. The Filipinas’ hopes of advancing were dashed by Norway, 6-0.

Stajcic’s contract with the Filipinas is set to expire as the deal he signed with the Philippine Football Federation runs only until the end of the Women’s World Cup.
