Dwight Ramos shrugs off hand wound

DWIGHT Ramos attended Gilas Pilipinas practice on Friday night despite suffering a right hand wound the night before.
Ramos’ wound did not require stitches.
“That’s basketball,” said Ramos when asked about it, adding that he could not remember how he got it.
Italy tops Athens tourney

SIMONE Fontecchio showed the way as Italy defeated Greece 74-70, to top the 2023 Aegean Acropolis Basketball Tournament in Athens.
The Utah Jazz forward scored 17 points, while Olimpia Milano’s Nicolo Melli added 13.
Nikos Rogkavopoulos had 12 points for Greece.
Italy is in Group A of the Fiba Basketball World Cup with the Philippines, Angola and the Dominican Republic.
Ateneo closes in on final in Japan tourney

MASON Amos scored 15 as Ateneo routed University of Sydney, 88-50, on Friday in the World University Basketball Series (WUBS) at the Yoyogi National Stadium in Japan.
Kai Ballungay added 13 points and Jason Credo chipped in 10 for the Blue Eagles, who take on Japan's Hakuoh University in the semifinals.
Hakuoh won by 48 over Indonesia's Perbanas Institute in the tournament opener.
