    JAMEL Artis, known for no-relief outings with NorthPort, is being eyed again by the Batang Pier for the 2023 PBA Governors’ Cup.

    Artis was brought in to replace Cameron Forte in the Season 46 Governors’ Cup and NorthPort made a late run, falling just short.

    The Batang Pier lost to Phoenix Fuel Masters in the playoff for the eighth spot in the quarterfinals.

    “Pinapa-sign namin si Jamel Artis, yung last import namin,” said team manager Bonnie Tan.

    Blackwater is bringing in Shawn Glover, while Meralco has retained KJ McDaniels.

    Dragons look to bounce back

    BAY Area looks to quickly get back on track in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup finals against Barangay Ginebra.

    Coach Brian Goorjian says they are going to “hit back,” without playing dirty as they seek to even the best-of-seven title series.

    Ginebra, the last PBA team standing, took the opener by holding guest team Bay Area to its lowest output this conference on 38 percent shooting.

    Andrew Nicholson was also held to his tournament low of 27 points, and Goorjian hopes to the American import can do much better in Game Two on Wednesday.

    Justine Baltazar joins PSL after B.League stint


    AFTER a short stint in the Japan B.League, Justin Balzatar is set to see action in the Pilipinas Super League.

    The league announced on social media that the former La Salle forward will suit up for the Pampanga Giant Lanterns.

    Baltazar saw limited action for Hisroshima Dragonflies this season and was released last week.
