    Acuna out injured

    Purefoods 3x3 player Val Acuna is out with a broken jaw.

    VAL Acuna’s stint with Purefoods has been cut short due to an injury.

    The 35-year-old Acuna, a second-round pick by B-Meg in the 2010 draft who returned to Purefoods in the PBA 3x3 tournament, suffered a broken jaw in the TJ Titans’ game against Platinum Karaoke on Wednesday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

    Acuna collided with Chris de Chavez and complained of pain in his cheek and nausea.

    Platinum won the game.

    Purefoods reserve Antonio Bonsubre will take Acuna’s spot.

    The Titans also lost to and Pioneer Pro Tibay and are in the bottom of Pool C with NorthPort.

    Cabrera under observation

    ROIDER Cabrera is under observation in hospital after collapsing in the dugout after Terrafirma’s game against Barangay Ginebra on Wednesday night in the PBA 3x3 tournament.

    Cabrera was stretchered off the Ynares Sports Arena unresponsive, but witnesses said he regained consciousness in the ambulance.

    Members of the Dyip team had just finished saying their prayer in one of the dressing rooms of the when Cabrera lost consciousness, according to Terrafirma deputy coach Ronald Tubid.

    The Dyip are on top of their group after wins over Meralco and Ginebra.

    Marc Pingris back in harness

    PBA Greatest

    Marc Pingris, a member of the PBA's Greatest 40, sees action in the MPBL.

    MARC Pingrisis is set to see action a little over half a year after retiring, suiting up in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League Invitational Cup in December.

    The 40-year-old Pingris, who retired in May after 16 years in the PBA, is set to play for the Nueva Ecija Rice Vanguards in the tournament set Dec. 11 to 23.

    Pingris, out of the Philippine School of Business Administration, was picked third overall in the 2004 PBA draft by FedEx. He was traded to Purefoods and also had a stint with San Miguel before returning to the Purefoods franchise.
