NCAA, UAAP schools make their presence felt in PNG

ARELLANO University and University of Perpetual Help proved too much against their respective opponents as NCAA school stamped their class in the under-19 football competition of the Philippine National Games.

The Chiefs downed Candon City, Ilocos Sur, 7-1, while the Altas turned back Olongapo City, 6-2, in games held at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex Friday.

In baseball, UAAP schools also made their presence felt behind reigning UAAP champion Ateneo and runner up De La Salle.

The Blue Eagles defeated Thunders, a team composed of former UAAP and Illam (International Little League Association of Manila) players, 7-3, while the Green Archers won over Adamson, 8-3.

In a thrilling match, Itakura Parts Philippines Corporation (IPPC) edged out Philippine Air Force, 9-7.
