Both sides said construction will begin early next year.
“This project with the PSC supports our vision for Camp John Hay as a place where tourism, sports, and community growth move together. The center will give athletes structured, science-based, and accessible training," said Bingcang.
It will also bring jobs, strengthen local businesses, and provide a strong push for youth development,” he added.
Once completed, Gregorio and Bingcang envision the sports center to give athletes from various sports access to structured, science-based training. Gregorio also wants a facility that can host future training camps of Gilas Pilipinas and other national teams.
“The collaboration between BCDA and PSC is unprecedented. This is the best example of government collaboration," said Gregorio. Pag nagtulungan at nag sama-sama ang mga ahensya ng gobyerno para sa sports development, ito ay kahanga-hanga."
"Let me thank BCDA CEO Jake Bingcang and the BCDA board headed by chairman Larry Paredes for this collaboration. Thank you for believing in the programs of PSC. Thank you for helping us inspire the youth," Gregorio added.
