MICAELA Jasmine Mojdeh of Parañaque City and Aubrey Tom of Cainta, Rizal finished their campaign in the swimming competitions of the 2019 Batang Pinoy Luzon leg by winning five gold medals each at the Isabela Sports Complex in Ilagan, Isabela.
The 12-year-old Mojdeh won the girls’ 200-meter butterfly, while Tom captured the 50-meter freestyle to win their fifth gold medal at the pool, all of which competing in the much-older 13-15 year old age bracket.
Mojdeh clocked two minutes and 25.74 seconds to add to the 100-meter and 50-meter butterfly, and 200-meter and 400-meter individual medley.
Tom, on the other hand, timed 29.46 seconds in the 50-meter freestyle after ruling the 50-meter butterfly, 200-meter individual medley, 100-meter freestyle, and 50-meter backstroke.
Other winners on the pool include Laguna’s John Cyprus Factor (boys’ 12-under 200m freestyle), Dave Daryl Bandillo (boys’ 12-under 100m breaststroke) and Philip Miguel Mendoza (boys’ 13-15 200m freestyle), Dasmarinas’ Renavive Subida (girls 12-under 200m freestyle), Dagupan’s Janelle Alisa France Lin (girls’ 13-15 200m freestyle) and Gabriel Angelo Jizmundo (boys’ 13-15 100m breaststroke).
Gold medalists in athletics include Pangasinan’s Rufo Aidan Raguine (boys’ triple jump), Zambales’ Janine Ledina (girls’ javelin throw), Laguna’s James Bryle Ballester (boys’ 2,000-meter steeplechase), and Laguna’s Magvrylle Chrause Matchino (girls’ 2,000-meter steeplechase).
