Meralco, PNP try to keep semifinal hopes alive in V-League Open

    Sep 26, 2013

MERALCO and Philippine National Police try to stay alive in the Shakey's V-League Season 10 Open Conference as they clash against separate opponents Friday at The Arena in San Juan.

The Power Spikers, who hold a 3-5 win-loss card, take on tournament leader Cagayan Valley at 4 p.m.

Meralco looks to bounce back after a 18-25, 19-25, 19-25 loss to Philippine Army, and the Power Spikers hope to get the boost from Chinese reinforcement Coco Wang, skipper Maureen Penetrante-Ouano and veteran spiker Maica Morada.

The Lady Rising Suns, on the other hand, are sitting comfortably at the top with an 8-0 record and have already booked a ticket to the semifinals.

PNP sees action at 2 p.m. against Smart.

The Lady Patrolers are currently at the bottom (2-6), while the Net Spikers are in third spot (5-3) next to Army (8-1).

San Beda College standouts Janine and Frances Molina are expected to lead PNP with Thai import Patcharee Sangmuang providing the added boost.
