THE Philippine National Games will be hosted by Manila for the second straight time, with the country’s best athletes battling it out for honors from May 16 to 25 of this year.
The Philippine Sports Commission has already sent out invitations to various local government units (LGUs) for their athletes to participate in the annual open event.
National athletes are required to participate in the PNG. Those who will skip the event face suspension of their monthly allowances.
It will be the fourth time that the PSC and the Philippine Olympic Committee will hold the event after its revival in 2011.
Bacolod hosted the PNG revival in 2011 followed by Dumaguete in 2012. Manila also hosted last year’s PNG.
