LA SALLE occupies the top spot of the UAAP general championship halfway into the 75th season of the league.
In an unofficial tally obtained by Spin.ph, the Archers are in first place with an accumulated score of 152 points after two first-place, four second-place and five third-place finishes in the first semester sports.
Despite capturing five titles, University of Santo Tomas is in second with 144 while University of the Philippines takes third spot with 108.
The league gives 15 points to a champion team, 12 for the second placer and 10 for the third placers. The bottom five are given eight, six, four, two, and one point, respectively.
The Archers took home the women’s taekwondo and women’s table tennis championships while finishing second in women’s basketball, men’s taekwondo, men’s swimming, and men’s table tennis. They also were third in men’s and women’s badminton, women’s beach volleyball, women’s swimming and men’s judo.
The Tigers topped the women’s beach volleyball, men’s taekwondo, men’s table tennis, and the men’s and women’s judo events but the men’s basketball team was the only second placer of the school.
The Maroons’ lone title came from women’s swimming and the school also had second-place finishes in women’s table tennis, men’s and women’s judo.
Ateneo is in fourth place with 107 points following championships in men’s basketball, women’s badminton and men’s swimming followed by Far Eastern University with 93 points with one title in women’s basketball.
Host National University is in sixth place with 71 points built around titles in men’s badminton and men’s beach volleyball. University of the East is in seventh with 57 points with Adamson brings up the rear with 51 points.
